o Conference Sessions - Thursday, October 27-Friday, October 28.

Both the Eastern Regional Assessment Workshop for DDOTs and the VATD Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Koger Center, Richmond, Virginia.

VATD Keynote Speaker - Dr. Pat Forgione, Distinguished Presidential Scholar and Executive Director for the Center for K-12 Assessment & Performance Management at ETS will be the VATD 2011 Conference Keynote Speaker. Dr. Forgione will address current issues in assessment at the national level, future trends in assessment and what our greatest challenges may be in conducting Virginia's assessment program. Dr. Patricia Wright, State Superintendent, Virginia Department of Education, will also speak from the state perspective.

We are currently soliciting Breakout Sessions regarding successful approaches to combining teacher evaluations with test performance, preparing students for online testing and testing with hand-held devices as well as traditional best practices in assessment. Presenters pay a discounted registration fee of only $45.00.

As we have stated over the years, our breakout sessions are what make our conference so meaningful, so please consider sharing your "best practices" with others! We are asking that session proposals be submitted by September 25th.
